God Really Hates Kids

30 March 2004

Yeah, I’m sure there’s a morally sufficient reason for all the atrocities against kids: Children in Angola Tortured as Witches

According to rights advocates in town, children as young as 5 have been hanged, stoned to death, raped, burned and drowned in rivers after being accused of sorcery.

Ummm, yeah, free will. That must be it.

God Hates Kids

30 March 2004

Yep, it’s true. God hates kids, and He uses humans to do His dirty work. Just read this very comforting story from Texas: Toddler was First Attacked, Prosecutors Say

We’ve been considered the paucity of support for the prohibition of homosexuality recently. It’s worth pointing out how clearly this contrasts with other prohibitions that are clear and unambiguous, but less embraced by most of your Xian moralists. So, in Matthew 19:9, we get — straight from the mouth of Jee-sus, the following:

And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

Could it be any clearer? You can’t ditch your wife and marry another unless she’s been gettin’ it on the side, and you can’t marry a rejected wife (even if she was unfairly rejected) without likewise committing adultery. So, Xians, why doesn’t this get the same force as “no homo action”? (OK, the hardcore Cat-licker’s don’t allow divorce — and, with the recent scandals, seem OK with at least some dick-licking boys, and long as it’s kept quiet. Give them points for consistency, if not for morality.)2bxanax 2bmastercardalcohol addiction xanaxamish viagra usagemg xanax bars 1000about tramadol repent allactive ingredient in viagra2mg no membership xanaxviagra after Map

Hitler’s Christianity

27 March 2004

Meant to post this earlier: For another side on the lies that Famous Liar Ann “Nazi Barbie” Coulter was telling about Hitler and atheism, you might try Hitler’s Christianity and Hitler’s table talk and other extraneous sources.

Decisions, Decisions…

25 March 2004

FYI: According to the site at Americans United, “A decision in the Newdow case is expected in late June.” From what I’ve been reading, I guess Newdow wasn’t that bad. “A Pledge Pin?! On Your Uniform?!”

23 March 2004

(Sorry for the Animal House reference, but I couldn’t resist.)

Yes, we all know that the Pledge stuff is coming down the pipeline this week (personally, I’m not that optimistic), and it’s all over the news. But there was just one story (so far) that made me chuckle. It’s from Kerrville, TX: Majority rules: ‘Under God’ Should Stay

The vast majority of this nations population believes in the existence of a Creator god. Whether they subscribe to the Judeo-Christian God who the writers of the U.S. Constitution believed in or they pray to Allah, the over-riding belief is that our country and this world was created by God.

The voices objecting to a pledge of allegiance reciting one nation under God are a minority. In a democratic nation where the right to practice or not practice religion is guaranteed, the voices of the minority are heard and listened to, but should not be allowed to silence the wishes and views of the majority.

And there ya go, democracy all neat and tidy. (I’ll let you guys take care of this democratic-math problem for homework.) I’d think it was really funny if it wasn’t for the fact that this thought is probably on a lot of xian minds about now. Oh well, we’ll see how it goes.

FYI

21 March 2004

Just a heads-up for a link that was given to me today. In addition to the popular Darwin Day, I guess there is another day called Darrow Day, for Clarence Darrow:

The famous agnostic mocked all notions of an afterlife or reincarnation. But he joked that if he were ever to come back, friends should look for him at 10 a.m. on the anniversary of his death.

Since 1957, a hard core of Darrow loyalists has done just that: gathered at that bridge on that anniversary, not really expecting to see Darrow come back to life, but to rededicate themselves to causes he championed. And so keep his spirit alive.

I think just gathering together waiting around for nothing to happen actually sounds kinda cool, myself. Anyway, tell all your thinking friends about it. (Those that don’t think are probably too far gone.)

Today’s scripture: More from Boys’ Town, part II

21 March 2004

Returning to our theme for two weeks ago (sorry; last week, God struck me down with the flu): I was discussing whether the condemnation of men sucking dick in the old testament is preserved in the new, or whether it effective drops by the wayside along with the condemnation of eating bacon cheeseburgers. And I’d made my way through the passage at 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, and found that it didn’t seem clear — seemed more likely to just be anti-circle-jerk as more generally anti-manly-cocksucking; and in any case, didn’t make man-on-man sex any worse than sex before marriage, getting drunk, or those that covet what belongs to others.

Today, a few words about the other two passages cited from the new testament that are supposed to keep the homo action forbidden: 1 Timothy 1:9-10, and Romans 1: 26-27.

…the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine… (1 Timothy 1:9-10)

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. (Romans 1: 26-27)

Two obvious things here.

(a) None of these condemnations (these two or he on from Corinthians before) is attributed to the J-man himself, but to the mere mortals that followed. If Jay-Cee wanted to warn us from the gay sex action, why didn’t he say so? Maybe there’s more that whole eating of the body of Christ than meets the eye? Certainly would explain the vicious near-self-loathing that the Xian gay-bashers show. Yeah, eat me, you bad, bad, boy.

(b) Neither of these does any better than the Corinthians passage before in giving clear condemnation — in fact, the Romans passage is far worse, as it suggests that God is the one turning them (men and women, for once) over to their steamy gay lust. In fact, the immediately preceding passage says that the cause for which they were “given up unto vile affections” was that “professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things … who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator.” I guess this means they became some kind of animist or constructivist about God — I’m not sure which.
