Here they come, folks. Falwell Starts Own Law School

“We want to infiltrate the culture with men and women of God who are skilled in the legal profession,” Falwell said in a telephone interview Tuesday with The Associated Press. “We’ll be as far to the right as Harvard is to the left.”

Infiltration? Kinda sounds like The Discovery Institute and the ID movement. Wedging themselves in just about everywhere, those fucking little xians are…

What total fucking bullshit. Man Sentenced in Case of Milwaukee Boy Who Died at Prayer Service

A church elder was sentenced to 21/2 years in prison Tuesday for abusing an 8-year-old autistic boy who died in what prosecutors called an exorcism at a storefront church.

Prosecutors say Ray Hemphill lay on Terrance Cottrell Jr.’s chest for at least an hour while trying to release “demons” from him, before the boy died Aug. 22, 2003.

Yeah, could’ve gotten ten years, but instead he gets 2.5 and 7.5 of “extended supervision,” whatever the hell that means. Fuck that. The guy suffocated and killed a kid, and he had priors on the same fucking thing.pornography adult lawsadult pornpicspornstar skyy black adultpsp adult pornadult porn satellite starssearch for adult pornoporn adult stories sexadult tv sex-porn Map

Homosexual Marriage Is Gay

19 August 2004

Linda Harvey, president of Mission America a "pro-family organization which monitors homosexual activism in youth culture", has a startling announcement.

Gov. James McGreevey is not gay.

Yup. It floored me too. Apparently, the Governor just likes having sex with men, and he’s probably an atheist to boot.

Who knew? Wow! Linda Harvey is a freakin’ genius!

How is homosexual desire created? Start with a very self-focused person, maybe a young person who’s growing up and trying to discover him or herself. It helps if this person is a bit of a loner. Add some troubled masculine or feminine identity issues and poor relationships with parents. Pour on a little self-pity and envy: "Why can’t I be more like him or her?" Stir briskly while adding continuous school lessons, TV shows, church "dialogues" and news stories about homosexuality. Capture one’s stirring emotions in an appropriate moral framework. (Hint: Choose one that won’t challenge these emerging desires. New-Age spirituality or atheism are ideal, but traditional faiths won’t work. If necessary, modify them radically to suit your needs.)

Yup. According to Linda, gay people don’t ever belong to "traditional faiths".

Has Jody heard about this? I mean, this Linda Harvey seems to know the occult magic potion recipe for gayness, maybe she has another magic incantation recipe for straightness! Wow! Jody can be miserable and wallowing in guilt in no time with old Linda running the show! Plus, he’ll be cured of his atheism, which we all know is just a dangerous homosexual-practicing satanic cult.

Praise Jebus!

Not so big with the God thing, eh?

Some recent poll numbers from the Pew Forum on Religious and Public Life about religion in the U.S. and Canada are worth seeing. Some of the highlights from Minding the God gap:

Twice as many Americans as Canadians say religion is very important to them…. “The United States and Canada are increasingly drifting apart in levels of religious commitment,” said Luis Lugo, director of the Pew forum.

Most of Africa, many countries in Asia — except Japan — the struggling countries of Latin America all report towering numbers when asked if religion is important. In Indonesia, 95 per cent say yes. In Senegal 97 per cent agree, in Pakistan, 91 per cent and in the United States, 59 per cent. Canada at 30 per cent is similar to Great Britain and Italy. France and the Czech Republic are lowest at 11 per cent.

Pew research also showed a similar gap between the U.S. and Canada in answer to the question: Do you need to believe in God to be a moral person? In Canada the majority said no, in the U.S. most said yes. “In the minds of Americans, morality and religion are very closely connected,” said Lugo. “To have morality in public life, you must have religion, because it is religion that nurtures morality.”

I am clearly a Canadian trapped in an Amerikkkan body. When I retire, I’m movin’ north.

Sorry, but just had to get in a Holy Grail quote on this one: Gasping, Pontiff Struggles at Mass

LOURDES, France — Pope John Paul II struggled through Sunday mass at a French shrine that draws desperate people seeking miracle cures. The 84-year-old pontiff gasped, trembled and asked aides for help during the 2 1/2 hour service in sizzling heat.

But at least he got in a few good quotes:

Aides brought the pontiff a glass of water, and he said he wanted to continue. Though he skipped several paragraphs, he was able to deliver a final, forceful point: a condemnation of abortion, cloning and euthanasia. [...] The pope also spoke out against materialism and secularism. He singled out women, asking them to be witnesses “of those essential values which are seen only with the eyes of the heart.” The message was in line with a recent Vatican document accusing feminism of blurring the distinctions between men and women.

You’re not foolin’ anyone, ya know. Bring out your dead!

Real funny story about prayer studies: Journal Silent After Its Article on Power of Prayer Draws Criticism

But questions about the study began soon after its publication in the September 2001 issue of the Journal of Reproductive Medicine. Several researchers, led by Dr. Bruce Flamm, an obstetrician-gynecologist at Kaiser Permanente in Riverside and a clinical professor at UC Irvine Medical School, questioned the study’s methodology.

He found it so complicated as to be almost unexplainable. And the authors said several times that the women didn’t know they were in an experiment, considered a serious ethical breach. Flamm wrote critical letters and e-mails to the journal’s editors and the scientists. He called. He left messages. And for nearly three years, he has been ignored.

Good news from, of all places, Florida: Court rules original school voucher law unconstitutional

Florida’s original voucher law was declared unconstitutional Monday by a state appeals court because it lets students from failing public schools attend private religious schools at taxpayer expense. The 2-1 decision by the 1st District Court of Appeal upholds an August 2002 ruling by a trial judge who said that the law violates a provision of the state constitution that bans the use of tax dollars on religious schools…. Under the 1999 law, the centerpiece of Gov. Jeb Bush’s education policies, students attending public schools that earn failing grades two years out of four are eligible for vouchers to help them attend private schools, religious or otherwise….
Ron Meyer, a lawyer for the opponents, called Monday’s ruling “a monumental win for taxpayers. It means they’ll no longer be forced to pay taxpayer money for unaccountable schools,” Meyer said. “It means that taxpayer money will be used only for public schools. It means that the separation of church and state will be honored.”… “Americans should never be taxed to support religious schools and this decision upholds that vital principle,” Ayesha Khan, legal director for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, said in a statement.

This law was such bullshit — fail to appropriately support public schools, then when they fail, say your only choice is to give the money to religious schools. Gee, do you think this gives the Jesus-luvin’ politicians even more reason to fail to support the public schools?
