P. Z. Myers says what should be said

9 August 2005 by Ron

I’m a big fan of P. Z. Myers’ Pharyngula — lots of fun biology and smart opposition to anti-science and anti-rationalist bullshit (like, you know, “intelligent design“).

Apparently, he’s been getting a lot of whining from even allies about making some strongly atheistic comments (which, of course, only makes me want to have his baby). And he gets the answer to them just right in his post “Warning: this weblog is run by an atheist“. Read it for yourself; I’ll just quote the last bit here: “…if I can be comfortable with your belief that I’m going to burn in Hell, you should be able to cope with my belief that your god-bothering nonsense is a steaming heap o’ BS.”

The Kung Fu Monkey blog recently presented a post that very complimentary to this piece called “The President and Intelligent Design.” My favorite line: “Everybody who wants to live in the 21st century over here. Everybody who wants to live in the 1800’s over there. Good. Thanks. Good luck with that.”
