Theocracy Fuck-Ups, Pt. II

Not Enough LionsJust a follow-up to my earlier post on the Christian Exodus:

CHARLESTON, South Carolina (Reuters) - Cory Burnell wants to set up a Christian nation within the United States where abortion is illegal, gay marriage is banned, schools cannot teach evolution, children can pray to Jesus in public schools and the Ten Commandments are posted publicly. [...] Burnell hopes to move 2,500 Christians into the northern part of the state by next year and to persuade tens of thousands to relocate by 2016. His goal is to fill the state legislature with “Christian constitutionalists.” [...] The organization’s Web site says if it does not meet its goal of change, it will work to secede from the United States.

  1. Ford:

They’ll all be in one concentrated spot?! Do I smell a plot that involves atomic boms and possibly napalm?

  2. Ford:

Man, this is off topic but I’m watching “frailty” on the scifi channel and this is one of the most f’ed up things I’ve ever seen, I remember the last time I saw this movie, I was still relgious, and it phased me only slightly less.

  3. Francois Tremblay:

A Christian nation within the United States ? Isn’t that tautological ? The only difference I see between this and the regular crazy US is the illegal abortion thing, but give the Republicrats a few more yers and I’m sure they’d get it anyway.

  4. Lya Kahlo:

I’m sorry, it their ceeding from the union supposed to be a threat? Sounds great to me!

  5. Crystal:

This is honestly the funniest and saddest (for the US) thing that I have ever seen.

  6. Alan:

I grew up in the ‘Upstate’ of South Carolina very near to where these nut-jobs are moving. I recently posted about the group also. I can harldy bear to visit my family who live there.

  7. Captain Al:

    “schools cannot teach evolution…”

But of course they will gladly allow satellite TV, computers, refrigerators, central heating, cheap air travel, automobiles, medicine and every other convenience science has given them.

  8. Ford:

Yeah, the medicine and vaccines of course based on evolution.

  9. Sean:

Let them secede. Then, as Captain Al points out, we can sanction them on any and all products that benefit from science. As in, fuckin’ everything.

It won’t be like sanctioning Iraq. Not a blanket sanction, a selective one, based on their own strongly held beliefs.

We can just say “Hey, dudes… We’ll send you anything you want, from tractors to popcorn, as long as you can prove to us that science had nothing to do with their creation. What. You mean, you can’t? Tough shit. STARVE.”

And I was with Ford from the very first post. You’re all gonna be in one place at the same time? Bwahahaha. There must be a Final Solution here. Yeah, I know, that’s evil. But what do you think they would do to an American Atheist State? I truly believe they would gladly kill every one of us if they could.

Hey, let’s have a convention in Madison Square Garden and find out.

Old post, oh well. Just found this on google.

Is it just me, or does that really sound like a cult?
