There is another possibility here, which is, in its way, equally worrisome. That is, that the president tends to speak with the slang sensibility of a little boy. One can easily imagine his mother, the former first lady Barbara Bush, telling wee Georgie, “eat your green, green lima beans!” It seems a likely route by which such a cute expression might take up residence in a person’s mind.
I am always appalled when listening to him speak. He has gone to YALE, he has been raised in an upper-class family. He has held public office for a long time now. He has advisors and is surrounded by articulate and educated people. Yet he keeps on talking like a dumbass. He is either putting on the dumbass act, or is seriously S-L-O-W and in middle-class America would have ridden the “Twinkie bus” to SPED school.
The photo next to Bill “Daddy Stealer” Clinton is a classic. It just screams, “Ha Ha! He’s mine!”
