In a Special Comment last night, Olbermann took Condi to task for making the following ridiculous and historically inaccurate analogy on FOX News Sunday:
“…It would be like saying that after Adolf Hitler was overthrown, we needed to change then, the resolution that allowed the United States to do that, so that we could deal with creating a stable environment in Europe after he was overthrown.”

Keith Olbermann is flat-out amazing! I admire his courage–ratings-driven or not. (I think it’s mostly “not”.) I feel it was something on the order of “Well, I can’t wait any longer for someone else to step up. I guess it’s gotta be me…”
And Condi IS stupid for parroting what she’s told to say. For a smart woman, she couldn’t make that analogy herself. Is this the price she pays for staying in the “circle of power”? I tend to nod my head in agreement with just about everything Penn and Teller say on their Bullshit! show. And since people here have labeled them Libertarians, I guess that makes me one. Having said that, the only time I ever voted (in 1980) was for Reagan, and that wasn’t due to political ideologies, but due to the fact I was joining the Army, and knew Reagan was for a strong military. And you know, he didn’t even get us into a war.
Since then I just haven’t felt strongly enough about any of the candidates to vote for them. And I don’t feel that voting AGAINST someone is a valid use of my vote.
There are some who say something like “If you didn’t vote, then you can’t complain.” I disagree. It’s precisely BECAUSE I didn’t vote that I have the right to complain. It’s not my fault whomever is in office. But if I voted against that person (FOR someone else), I would be to blame and THEN wouldn’t have any room to complain.

I haven’t read any of Harris’ books as yet, though I’ve seen excerpts on his site and such. I think he’s right on concerning religion in general.
I don’t have a problem with Meditation, but it seems like some pretty whacko things can come out of one’s imagination when it’s left to wander like that, lol.
As for psychedelic drugs, I have no use for them. Never tried them, never had the urge, and never will. In my opinion they’re an escape, like religion.
