“We the People of God, in order to form a more perfect theocracy”

Thanks to Spirula for pointing to this one:
Huckabee: Amend Constitution to be in ‘God’s standards’
David Edwards and Muriel Kane
I know we are all sick of hearing about Upchuckabee, but it’s important to keep making fun of him and making sure that he is as far from the nomination as possible because as we have seen with Dubya, we can’t take it for granted that people won’t vote for him.
From The Raw Story:
The United States Constitution never uses the word “God” or makes mention of any religion, drawing its sole authority from “We the People.” However, Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee thinks it’s time to put an end to that.
“I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution,” Huckabee told a Michigan audience on Monday. “But I believe it’s a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that’s what we need to do — to amend the Constitution so it’s in God’s standards rather than try to change God’s standards so it lines up with some contemporary view.”
When Willie Geist reported Huckabee’s opinion on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, co-host Mika Brzezinski was almost speechless, and even Joe Scarborough couldn’t immediately find much to say beyond calling it “interesting,”
Scarborough finally suggested that while he believes “evangelicals should be able to talk politics … some might find that statement very troubling, that we’re going to change the Constitution to be in line with the Bible. And that’s all I’m going to say.”
Geist further noted of Huckabee that if “someone without his charm,” said that, “he’d be dismissed as a crackpot, but he’s Mike Huckabee and he’s basically the front-runner.”

You know, I hope he comes down here to MO for the primaries and visits Springfield. If he does, I want to hit him with this question. In fact, if you’re an atheist in MO and you have the chance to grill him, ask him about this and then ask if that means making amendments that would force women cover themselves in public, remove women from any position of authority (which would mean he’d have to begin screaming about how Hilary is going against the unchanging word of a living god), kill disobedient children, etc.
Or perhaps we should just give him a copy of the Confederate Constitution which has an appeal to “Almighty God” in the preamble.

You gotta admit one thing, the Hucktard does give us atheist bloggers some good material!
15 January 2008, on 7:32 pm
Didn’t some of those guys in the bible have multiple wives? I guess that’s a little silver lining for us guys, heh?
15 January 2008, on 8:06 pm
I’ve often felt that a great many people who pay obeisance to the Bible would be shocked to discover what is in it.

You gotta admit one thing, the Hucktard does give us atheist bloggers some good material!
And such a steady supply of it, too! He provides more stuff to make fun of than the whole entire Republican party!

Fuck this stupid hick son of a bitch right in his pie hole. Someone should have stepped up to him after making such a statement and knocked the goddamned, aw shucks grin off his repellent face. Then they should have ripped the latex of his fat face off to reveal the vermin command module beneath. This man is a fucking disgrace to everything our admittedly flawed founding fathers did to create this nation, everything they stood for, everything they left for us in writing to see us on our way. This is the fucking 21st century, not Oliver shithead Cromwell or the fucking Spanish Inquisition. This kind of thinking is so ridiculous, so obsolete, so unnecessary, so patently false- it’s like motherfucking excrement falling from his incontinent mouth. Half of me is like, alright, any of the Dems should have a field day with this yahoo but then I remember they’re Dems and we’re dealing with the largely ignorant electorate that at gave us eight years of Bush and then I want to either cry or break something and, sense my nose is already stuffed by some rhinovirus or another, I’m leaning towards the breaking and I start to really wonder whether these idiot evangelical fucks aren’t so far gone as to be a completely lost cause, an irritant that won’t take nacre, rabid fucking varmints worth no more than a bullet in the head. Fuck, it should fit in with their ideology anyway. They get to die without the hassle of that whole suicide exception preventing their gated community in the sky from welcoming them in- hey, they believe it, let ‘em embrace it. Of course, like Ann Coulter, I’m kidding- except…

Someone should have stepped up to him after making such a statement and knocked the goddamned, aw shucks grin off his repellent face.
RDZ, I am so waiting for that to happen. How can reporters and people in the audience just let this shit slide? It really pisses me off when no one at all even attempts to rebut him and other fundies when they have the chance to do it LIVE on the air. I just don’t get it at all. Even the liberals are so nicey-nice to him and other evangelicals. I am wanting to hear some questions asked. Put the screws to Huckabee and other assholes like him.

I just read about a gay leftist somewhere who’s voting for Huckabee in the interests of giving the GOP their worst possible candidate. That’s not a risk I really want to take, but being able to force these things to the front of the debate if Huckabee gets the nomination would be a lot of fun.
15 January 2008, on 10:05 pm
Mike Huckabee is *hardly* a front-runner. He won Iowa, big deal! Iowa is made up of idiots. Trust me, the GOP race is between McCain and Romney. Fuckabee doesn’t stand a chance.
15 January 2008, on 10:58 pm
What an Outrageously stupid fuckhead, is “Rev.” FHuckabee!
Yeah…Fuck Huck to the nth, ass-kicking, power!!!
I was going to post this last night but GifS wasn’t cooperating with my Firefox browser; I’m sure glad it was just a temporary ‘lockout’. Things are nervous enough, without being deprived of this “Home” Site…
Remember!…”There’s NO place like home…There’s NO place like home…There’s…
(clicks ruby slippers).
Anyway…
With all the bullshit going on in the current Political…delusional fuckhead…horse race; here are two of George Carlin’s, somewhat more recent…”Reality” reminders…?
[In other words...in Politics...The more things 'change'; the more they remain the same!...?
Even if you've seen these; they bear (bare?) repeating.]:

PZ at Pharyngula posted today on this affront to the Republic. I responded in verse, encouraged by Cuttlefish. Since I have no shame, I repost my rhyme here:
A candidate named Huckabee
Claims his Dog makes it easy to see
A Republic that works,
Is only for jerks.
Quoth he, “Now, be ye all just like me!”
Not in front of a national crowd,
Just to a small group, he opined out loud,
“If you want to feel cool
And to wantonly drool
Ignore what the godless can see.”
By changing a system that gives each the powers
To live well in all diverse bowers,
He usurps our status,
He rips a great flatus,
And offends all the freedom that’s ours.
Oh, tell me that I’m merely dreaming.
And this is but vain, hollow scheming.
But inside I fear
That the day is now here
To confront all such offensive preening.
In a world where all things were just
Huckabee’s Bible would have ere turned to dust.
But as long as he’s able
To foist off this fable
I see liberty turning to rust.
Should we simply not carelessly let
Him impregnate this land with his get,
We would surely be able
To negate his fable,
And say to each other, “Well met.”
And may we all meet down by the ribah, at the confluence of tributaries. I do so hope I live to see these god-bothering, spittle-flecked, haircut getting, expensive suit wearing, Bently driving, child destroying, adult confounding idiots put in their place. Just once, before I die. It would give me hope for the lives of my children and my grandchildren.
E Pluribus Unum. (Even if so many miss that point.)

Bush…worse than Nixon.
Fuckleberry Hound…worse than Bush!
16 January 2008, on 1:37 am
I didn’t see the news reports. Did the talking heads who reacted to this at least have the courtesy to stare slack-jawed and drooling at the total impropriety of Fhuck’s remarks? Change the constitution to suit god?!!! If the reporters weren’t going to respond with “What the FUCK did you just say!” then they should simply gaze emptily at the idiot because there is just nothing left TO say.
16 January 2008, on 2:04 am
“Someone should have stepped up to him after making such a statement and knocked the goddamned, aw shucks grin off his repellent face.”
I agree wholeheartedly (well, OK, maybe knocked the goddamned, aw shucks grin off his repellent face–metaphorically)–bullshit should be called for what it is, and more so when it is lunatic bullshit. Unfortunately, this is unlikely to happen.
8 years ago, this joker would have been laughed off the National stage by most of the United States with these comments. Seven years of Bush, combined with political correctness, have desensitized and emasculated all but the most knee-jerkiest of progressives/secular humanists to these kinds of proclamations. The rest, I would surmise, are just downright scared to say anything, as they will go from being yesterday’s alliterative “Bush Basher” to todays “Huck Hater.”
I, for one, would be proud to be labeled a “Huck Hater,” except that such labels are used as political ammo; the (bullshit) claim being that “Huck Haters’ ” complaints/arguments are of negligible legitimacy, as they are, at heart, ad hominem attacks.
To which I respond; “Aw shucks, fucks Hucks. I’m proud to be a Huck Hater.”
16 January 2008, on 2:17 am
And…
Cue the Empire theme…
Dun! Dun! Dun! Dun-DAH-Dun! Dun-DAH-Dun! DAH! DAH! DAH! Etc…
But, seriously, couldn’t you see Huck trying to force-choke the Constitution with the Holy Power of Jesus while saying, “Your lack of faith is disturbing…”
16 January 2008, on 2:26 am
karen asked: “Did the talking heads who reacted to this at least have the courtesy to stare slack-jawed and drooling at the total impropriety of Fhuck’s remarks?”
No, karen, they didn’t. At least not the four (I think) that I heard. But they did remark on points such as how the faithful would be hard pressed to not attend closely. And how some might not be very enthusiastic but most of America is Christian, so,you know, . . . And not one, not One! raised so much as an eyebrow over this cloying pablum.
Oh, the embarrassment! All are as without clothes! All slink off to important staff meetings and late dinners at $125 a pop. Their hair is perfect, though.
I’ll be paying attention to Neil Boortz tomorrow morning. He, I bravely predict, will address your question. I just hope he doesn’t embarrass me!

Mike Huckabee is a Theocrat…
According to Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee at a recent rally (reported by The Raw Story)……
16 January 2008, on 8:12 am
I believe the phrase “Lord, protect me from your followers,” applies quite nicely here.
Oh, and I believe that a “FUCK HUCK!” is in order.
16 January 2008, on 10:18 am
I HAVE GOT to get a passport. Before emmigration is outlawed. The fact that a politician can say this and not be picked up and thrown out of the room on his ass… I don’t blame Huckabee. I blame the American people as a whole. Stupid gets what stupid deserves.
16 January 2008, on 10:20 am
Seems that I forgot to close the italics after GOT there. Sorry, I was pissed off.
16 January 2008, on 10:33 am
We’re not all idiots. Our Democratic turnout was double the Republican turnout. And frankly, the Democratic candidates are much better on the whole theocracy issue. At least until the Compulsive Centrist Consultants get their hooks in them. *sigh*
16 January 2008, on 11:21 am
Hi chucka,
You spell the name fhuckabee wrong, it should be FHUCK-A-BEE So small is he in my opinion.
16 January 2008, on 12:18 pm
Olbermann and Schuster were talking about this last night, but I only caught the tail end. I’ve been looking for a video clip but haven’t found one. Any of you have it?
16 January 2008, on 1:19 pm
Fritzy said: Bush…worse than Nixon.
Fuckleberry Hound…worse than Bush!
Doesn’t it make one really sad to hear the name Nixon and automatically think “Gee, he was pretty good for a president?”
What did Nixon do to get impeached (well, almost… he quit before it could happen)? He taped some conversations and lied about doing it. Ooooooooooo! He’s so bad, that Nixon, eh?
Yet Bush can lie about anything and everything, start any ol’ war he wants, hire his own personal militia *coughBlackwatercough*, ignore any ol’ intelligence reports he wants, lie some more, slide oodles-o-bucks from the american coffers into the pockets of his good buddies *coughOPECHalliburtonEverymotherfuckerheknowscough*.
But, does anyone bother about it? Oh no! ‘Cause at least he hasn’t tried to get a blow-job or anything scandalous or immoral.
Sheesh!
16 January 2008, on 8:02 pm
At least he won’t win Utah as long as Twit Romney is in the race. I’m still not convinced he isn’t a robot.

I think this is what you were searching for.
“Countdown: Theo-Con”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rapL_B4Cerc
I missed last night’s Countdown. Thanks for the “Heads Up”.
Keith is one of the very few (with brains?) who pays some attention to the REALLY important, underlying, issues.
Most other commentators are too delusional themselves (or have no spine) to question the Religious motivations of the, albeit, entirely delusional ‘Roster’ of power seekers.
Rachel Madow is, I think, another one with, in her case…Liberal, “Rhodes Scholar” brains.

Thanks, Stardust, so much, for your “Link Binge”(?)…
Hmmm…I’m wondering…Am I…a Link-aholic?
What!…”Don’t take the first Link!”…?
Perhaps the one good thing this FHuckabee asshole has accomplished with his running for President…and certainly, with this particular, Theocratic proclamation…is waking a lot more people up from their seemingly long stupor to what’s REALLY been going on for the last 30+ years.
The media dorks need a good ‘kick in the pants’ (or crotch?) from the more aware segment of the public. When I hear so-called ‘Professional” commentators like Wolf Blitzer, etc. inserting “Thank Gawd”, “Gawd forbid” yada, yada, RE various News items; I start angrily reaching for the remote! The reason, I think, that we continue…unabated…having Fundies and Morons [Mormons?]openly touting and wearing, with emphasis, their religion on their sleeves, has a lot to do with the Corporate owned media’s “hands off Religion” “don’t rock the brain” agenda.
It’s been a long, gradual, ‘crescendo’ from when Reagan took office to now; with heavy accents punctuating the rather cacophonous progression; especially since 9/11.
Notice that we see, essentially, absolutely NO appearances, especially now, of Dawkins, Hitchens, Harris in any situation which might threaten that media focus. No surprise there!
If it weren’t for the Internet, we’d all be…with absolute certainty…”up shits’ creek”!
“AARGHETY, AARGHETY, AARGH!!!”
17 January 2008, on 5:51 pm
On a slightly related topic, a gay activist friend of mine here in South Florida brought me up to date on this proposal going on November’s Florida ballots; as he pointed out, it’s an attack not only on gay couples, but on all other types of civil unions and cohabitation arrangements as well. We have a lot of retired senior citizens living together to share expenses and reap the benefits of companionship among other things, and this would definitely impact them very strongly.
18 January 2008, on 1:27 am
Eve…
Your reference to Seniors sharing companionship & housing certainly hits home with me. I guess, it’s another reason I’m personally glad I’m not living in Florida.
[Additionally, I don't like the year round 80s+ heat, etc.]
I DO have a sizable number of old friends living in various Florida locations…mostly of the “Better-off” variety.
That South Florida fuckhead proposal is also one more reason, I surmise, that we atheists need to be more and more cooperative and outspoken in exposing all the bullshit involved in religious thinking. Thanks to Dawkins, Hitchens, et. al., there’s a WEE bit more awareness…albeit gradual…of dramatically flawed rational thinking, and of how potentially dangerous religions are to our Constitutionally, SECULAR democracy.
I WAS pleasantly surprised, recently, to see an Ad for Dawkins’ “The God Delusion” (paperback edition) running on CNN during ‘The Situation Room’ time slot. Like I’ve said in the past on GifS, I think it’s time to do more emailing to the various News venues about the total arrogant stupidity being generated by the likes of FHuckabee, etc.
Including, perhaps…specifically…about how rather lame and spineless all the News media commentators are regarding what SHOULD BE obvious to even the most average critical thinker. And these talking head ‘dolts’ get paid big bucks to suck (& lick?) Corporate asses.
And how ’bout harping on Larry King, for example, for NEVER ONCE, in my recall, really having a program totally devoted to atheism; with a really great panel…something like “The Four Horsemen”: Dawkins, Hitchens, Dennett, Harris.
AND…AND…absolutely NO bullshit religious fuckheads present on the roster.
Hey…He’s kissed the Graham family’s asses, for example, and various, questionably ’sheister’(?) Psychics, like Sylvia Brown, Van Pragh and John Edward etc., many more times than I can remember…with absolutely no adversarial side present!
[Larry, in my opinion, usually just plays rather ‘kiss-ass’ with all of them.
Yada, yada!
Yeah…Sorry, everyone, for ranting a bit.
Again…”AARGH!”
