Pastor John Hagee endorses McCain: Bill Donohue Freaks out
The Catholic League demanded that McCain repudiate Hagee and his endorsement, just as Barack Obama did earlier this week with Louis Farrakhan (despite the fact that Obama, unlike McCain with Hagee, never sought out or accepted Farrakhan’s endorsement) In the interview, Donohue made some extraordinary statements. He compared Hagee both to Louis Farrakhan and Bob Jones, but noted: “Hagee is far more powerful than Farrakhan is today. . . . Hagee is a major player. There’s no end to his money. He has an empire down there.”
The sound in this video isn’t the best, but is a good short summary of just how extreme Hagee is in his religious nuttery, and McCain is happily accepting his endorsement with open arms.
If it’s between McJesus and Obamessiah, I may have to resort to writing in my vote for someone else in protest. If even 15% of us voted third party, that would be a huge statement that many of us are not happy, and do not like the way the country is going and we want real change and not just some pretty words and empty promises.
It’s pathetic that with all the intelligent and capable politicians that we end up with these two. And I am not the only one who feels this way. If we keep up with this trend of wooing the bigoted religious right and electing people who can only do things with the help of their imaginary friend who talks to them, our country will indeed one day become The United Church of America.

Odd. Hagee says the internet is a curse, yet he has his own website. http://www.jhm.org/ME2/Default.asp Hypocrisy? Nah. I’m sure the devil created the site and Hagee doesn’t even know it’s there, since neither he nor his faithful followers would have reason to have seen it.
As for McDimwit and Hagee, ugh! I was never ever even considering voting rethuglican, but this makes me wonder what a moderate Christian’s reaction to this twosome would be?

In this clip, John Hagee keeps mumbling about “prophecy”, “whores” and other such bewildering godspeak. Notice how he keeps poking the rather scantily clad n’cleavaged “Whore” in the breast…ROFLMAO!!! Would he poke a male’s genitalia in the same way? Why is the “Whore” riding a lion??? Has anyone ever watched that woman preacher with the long hair (I forget her name, she wears a collar like a catholic priest) and she tries to act so scholarly with their pointer sticks and charts, etc. but also talks gibberish nonsense.
It’s also funny that people in the audience sit there and nod in agreement with these people. They probably are half-assed listening, or don’t have a clue about what is being said. Hilarious!

You know there is a lot of money to be made in selling Xianity. Like my niece and her youth pastor husband. They live on an island in Alaska, have a huge house the church pays for, they get car allowance and people are giving them food along with their generous salary and benefits. Ever see the parsonages of most churches? They are quite nice. But the televangelists are the ones who do extremely well in wealth…that’s where the real dough is made. If you are good-looking and charismatic and you can lie without batting an eye, then you can have it all like Benny.

John, Obama’s church had him speak at a service before his campaign began. As I understand it, it was not a campaign speech and no campaign literature was allowed inside. Some are questioning the timing of this investigation as well. Why did the IRS wait all this time to begin an investigation.
Having said that, if the IRS finds wrongdoing, I would support his church being stripped of its tax exempt status.
For that matter, I would support stripping tax exempt status from all churches as they are clearly for profit businesses. Every single one of them.

Stardust, I have a theory that these folks began by believing the stuff anyway. So they really think their god is directing their lives, including the inspiration to accept money from stupid people. These probably aren’t non-believers laughing all the way to the bank (oh, some probably are), I’m going to guess most are believers who just figure they must be doing something right and the stupid people need them. “See, they’re giving me this money because I have the god-given ability to make them feel better, PTL.”

It seems to me that you are saying that to be a Christian you must be insane or stupid. That would be insulting to great scientific minds such as Sir Isaac Newton. As for myself I have a BA degree in Business as well as working on my graduate degree. I make $60k/yr. Hardly insane or illiterate.
Sir Isaac Newton did not prove the existence of a god and was not a theologian or evangelist, nor did he claim to be.

You are making the claim that a god exists, therefore the burden of proof is on the one making the claim. We cannot prove a negative. We are saying that there is no evidence for the existence of your god. Intelligent christians understand that their beliefs are based on faith alone and leave us alone. In response to your statement “if Jesus existed”, there is proof that He did exist. The proof is documented in writings by christian and non-christian historians.
Oh, here we go again. A couple of historians and that information is questionable and only hearsay. There was absolutely nothing written of Jesus at the time he supposedly lived.
So,yes, it is a fact that Jesus Christ did live and die by crucifixtion just as it was stated in the bible.
There is no evidence of this. It is simply a made up mythology like the story of other gods who were killed and resurrected.
