Ravi Zacharias thinks he can defeat any atheist in debate

We rejoice when people like Falwell go to meet their imaginary maker, but when one crazy evangelist dies, another just fills in his place. Ravi Zacharias says no atheist can defeat him in debate and he always wins the argument. That’s because no matter who really has the better argument, he declares himself the winner despite his lack of actual evidence for the existence of his god, just like a typical fundie.
Who is Ravi Zacharias you might ask? Jeffrey J. Lowder writes: “Ravi Zacharias, the former Hindu-turned-Christian apologist, is President of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, an organization dedicated to “presenting the credibility of Christianity as the only reasonable option by which people should live.”
Ravi Zacharias says,
“It is a mindless philosophy that assumes that one’s private beliefs have nothing to do with public office. Does it make sense to entrust those who are immoral in private with the power to determine the nation’s moral issues and, indeed, its destiny? …. The duplicitous soul of a leader can only make a nation more sophisticated in evil.”
Well, we have a President who many evangelicals believe holds higher moral standards and look where that got us.
I am sure you will have a lot to say to dispute this video. It was very difficult for me to watch the whole thing without my blood boiling. Zacharias and others like him attempt to intellectualize absurd religious beliefs and are maddening the way they pompously proclaim victory while offering no evidence except his bullshit rhetoric. Apologists are the most annoying to debate because they are so “smug” in the way they try to woo us with their “intellect”.

I don’t see what is the big deal about this guy–There is nothing unique or new about his arguments–they’ve all been shown to be logical fallacies before, but then again, insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, so…

You need a “moral law giver” to understand evil? I don’t like suffering, and from what I’ve been told, neither do most other people. What about that necessitates a moral law giver? People actually fall for this nonsense (let alone applaud it?)

Until they can present one shred of extraordinary evidence to back up their extraordinary claims, they can’t even qualify to be in the debate, much less win it. Disbelief is the default intellectual position of human consciousness. It’s not soothing. It’s not easy. It’s not always pretty but everything else is just wishful thinking. Believers lack spine and perseverance.

Why is it so hard to imagine that mere mortals, we humans, can be moral law givers, or rather, law makers?
Also, the simple fact that this guy dodged answering the so-called number 1 question by asking another question tells me he’s nothing more than a con. Looks like his “ship has been capsized on the reef of evil.”

This always happens when debating a fundie. They never answer the questions asked of them. They always try to divert attention to something else with another question. Lately I just keep going back to my questions and I don’t back down and they hate it. I just tell them to answer the questions I ask first then I will get to their’s. Last time I did that I got banned…for simply demanding they answer my questions. Typical.

Actually he does answer it…in a poor and obfuscatory manner. He, like so many believers, when faced with the inability to provide a logical answer, falls back on his faith in ancient tombs. Zachy basically ends his discussion of this question by blabbing on about the love and wonder of Gawd blah blah blah.
At first I thought I was being too obtuse to follow his reasoning, then realized there was no reasoning to follow. Duh.

Zacharias has no evidence to support his claims, therefore there can’t even be an argument unless he has some sort of solid evidence for this claim in the first place. All religious folks do is make up their own answers to everything, based on your ancient mythology book that was written by imaginative human beings. For every question asked, god believers just make it up. No other subject allows people to make up the answers to whatever they want it to be, according to however they choose to interpret their mythology book, and bend and twist the text to suit their own individual purposes. It’s why there are thousands of variations of Xianity, and even differences in those variations.
All Zacharias is offering is bullshit rhetoric.

I came here to crybaby and to leave a dropling turd from my mythology book.
Truth is none of you like liars, thieves and adulterers yet that is what we Xians are…we perpetuate lies and try to pass off myth as reality. Man punishes those that break the law and my God does nothing at all. Nothing happens without human intervention.
