More Religious Right boo-hooing

21 July 2008 by Stardust

boohooPat Robertson is boo-hooing that Americans United for Separation of Church and State is once again stifling his speech. People For the American Way (Right Wing Watch) are trying to “stifle” their speech. The truth is that all these watchdog groups do is broadcast the words that spew forth from the mouths of Robertson, DeMint and other rightwing whackadoos to a larger audience. AND what spews out of their mouths is rightfully being criticized and lambasted for being bigoted and for promoting suppression of people who are different from them whom they deem “immoral” and a “threat to society” based on their own prejudiced, personal religious “moral judgment.” The only ones they have to blame for “embarrassing” themselves, are themselves. They probably don’t even hear what they are saying when they talk.

Jim DeMint and Pat Robertson Boo-Hooing They Are Silenced

“Whisper” my ass!

I really should start a category for Boo-hooing since these posts are growing in numbers.

  1. Brooklyn Boy:

Well, this is an old story.

Many folks who would oppress others claim persecution when they are not allowed to call the shots. But I am truly amazed that such a moron could be elected to ANY public office, much less the US Senate.

In his rant, he rattled off lots of big numbers concerning the cost of out of wedlock births and yadda yadda. But I wonder what kind of numbers we’d come up with if we totaled up all the tax dollars we’re loosing to those who suffer from the god delusion?

After watching this clip, I need a stiff drink - whether the Senator would approve or not!

  2. Stardust:

Brooklyn Boy, it’s an old story that goes on and on and on and gets older and older. These videos are from 700 Club broadcast of July 15th. . .just this past week. Disgusting, isn’t it how they wallow in their own little pity parties when they aren’t allowed to just have their way, unquestioned?

Here is the fucktard article from the 700 delusional club site.

Restoring the Right to Say It’s Wrong

CBNNews.com - The philosophy called “political correctness” thoroughly permeates our modern culture.

And critics warn that the politically correct left-wing is constantly attacking traditional values.

It’s reached the point where some people of faith feel too intimidated to speak up for what they believe.
    [BULL-FUCKING-SHIT!]

These days, speaking out loudly against things like homosexual marriage or abortion on moral grounds can bring a flood of criticism from the media and secular elites.

[UM, EVER STOP TO WONDER WHY, ASSHOLE?]

South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint and Clemson University Professor J. David Woodard are authors of the new book, Why We Whisper: Restoring Our Right to Say It’s Wrong.

[MORE MARKETING TO XIAN SUCKERS -- BUY THOSE BOOKS FUNDIES!]

In it they show how government imposed secularism and government promotion of behaviors like abortion and homosexuality, have been the primary cause of the erosion of values in America.

[BUT HAVING AFFAIRS AND OTHER LEWD BEHAVIOR IS FINE BECAUSE IF THE PUBLIC FINDS OUT, JEEBUS WILL FORGIVE YOU.]

It also addressed the intimidation that often causes moral conservatives to whisper.

Like I said above…”whisper my ass!” If that is what they call whispering, then the yelling must be the bombs they love to drop on defenseless countries.

BB, I will join you in that drink.

  3. ChuckA:

    Wait just a boo-hooing minute…
Fuck their whispering claim…I think all these, constantly smiley-faced, shit-eating, Robertson kiss-ass Fundies are terminally “brain-DEAF”!
WE need, perhaps, to shout even MORE loudly to them:
    “BOOOOOH!…HOOEY!”
“STUFF YOUR BULLSHIT BIBLE UP YOUR ASS!”
When the fuck have any of these mindless, brainwashed religious fascists…EVER…really “whispered”? We’ve been hearing their totally self-righteous, incessant, brains-up-the ass, never ending whining for more than thirty years…and counting!

OK…I feel a smidgeon better now. But only a smidgeon…
Is that in any way similar to a pidgeon…whispering?
    “Brrrk!”

  4. Orzo:

They say “elite” like it’s something bad… :\

  5. Stardust:

There, it’s officially added in the sidebar…a brand new category for “Boo fucking hoo”

  6. AtheistUnderMask:

I agree Star, with your bullshit comment. If believers are afraid, why then is there a bloody kiosk in the damn mall that sells nothing but religious shirts? Why all the bumper stickers, T-shirts, crosses, politicians balyhooing their damn religious beliefs, hell, they have a ten commandment billboard in LAS FUCKING VEGAS!

  7. hogarm:

They have no reason to feel intimidated, they should feel embarressed and ashamed!

  8. cry4turtles:

First there was “The Horse Whisperer”, then “The Dog Whisperer”, now, newly released from Lion’s Gate Films…”The God Whisperer”. Starring Rob Zombie as “God”.

  9. AtheistUnderMask:

cry, I could see Rob Zombie as god.

  10. Raindogzilla:

First off, Senator DiMwit, that cogitive dissonance you’re experiencing is being held accountable for the things you say in public. No more does couching hateful, ignorant speech in religious terms render the message immune to scrutiny. You’re responsible, Senator DiPshit, that’s all. You are absolutely, 100% free to spew whatever nonsense your gnarled walnut of a brain can imagine loudly, proudly. With your buddy, Pat, you even have a cable outlet to reach a wide, if mentally challenged, audience with your sparkling conversation.

And you see, Senator DiCkhead, because you’ve managed to ooze your way into office as a representative of this nation’s government, your speech is even more closely examined by the citizenry you represent. That includes me, Senator DoUchebag.

These constant cries of “PERSECUTION!!”, coming from such an overrepresented- 80% or more- segment of the population, are pathetic, absurd, and, honestly, quite funny.

    {in the deep recesses of my mind, I envision a twenty-first century version of the Roman Colosseum, making sport of godbotherers for the entertainment of the secular elite, who have understandably assumed that adherents of such a self-hating ideology would surely welcome corporal punishment, public humiliation, and a real shot at martyrdom. Then, my friends, then will they regret their their decades long campaign to desensitize us to that “PERSECUTION!!” refrain, but I digress.}

In his quiverfull of gripes about our modern society, Senator DiNgbat, himself, holds the solution to his 150 billion dollar illegitimate child boondoggle. That’s right, you pale imitation of Jesse Helms, abortion!

“Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can abort for your country.”

Actually, the real problem there- and this in no way is meant to denigrate the efforts of single mothers who do make it work- is a general abdication of responsibility by young men. Obviously, the women who continue to get pregnant by men who’ve proven themselves to be incapable- or undesiring- of taking on the role of fathers bear some responsibility themselves but these supposed “players” creating a culture of woman-as-mere-incubator, with their labeling of these women as “baby mamas” are really letting down the side.

    Are we clear, Senator DuMbass?

  11. John Marley:

I lasted 45 seconds. Then I had to go away. The persecution complex is painful to listen to.

  12. Tommykey:

Jim DeMint is on the record as wanting to ban gays and unmarried pregnant women from teaching in the schools.

I don’t think he even understands the cognitive dissonance in this. He will rail against women getting abortion. So, if you kick a single pregnant woman out of her job as a school teacher, she loses her benefits and income and then cannot terminate the pregnancy because abortion has been criminalized, and welfare programs have been cut, except for those available from “faith-based” providers. So now she has been condemned to poverty. That’s the world that the Jim DeMints of America have in store for women.

  13. PYRETTE:

Why do they keep on bashing homosexuals and abortion? They seem to believe that it’s bringing about armagedon. (As my lecturer told us about writing reports) You must include a discussion containing a logical progression otherwise you don’t have an arguement you have astrology, eg. ‘Mars and Jupiter are aligned causeing your lucky number to be 4′ or ‘Homosexuality and abortion are causing disease and famine’. Jim Demint I give you an F, please resubmit and show all working.
BTW Surely there’s more people to hate than just gays and abortionists? Athiests dont even get a look in anymore.

2:00 “…if you say these things are wrong you’re going to get called down…what we’re losing is our freedom of speech.” Freedom of speech works both ways. You are quite welcome to stand on a street corner and scream your nonsense until you’re hoarse but also people walking past you are allowed to tell you that you are a FUCKING MORON. It’s not persecution just because no one listens to you or respects you.

2:25 “Alomost every god value can be attatched in some way to religion” Like bigotry and sexism? Civil liberties aren’t attatched to religion but then they are evil things arent they?

2:40 “Unwed births is a moral issue and we spend $150 billion a year on unwed births in our country” So it’s a moral issue because its costs money? Plese show your working.

2:50 Did he really say that crime, STDs, and poverty are all caused by unwed births? Is it too much to demand a little coherance? A little logic? A little proof?

I proclaim that this arsehole is causeing global warming with all the hot air he’s spouting and he’s causeing crime by making even the sensible law abiding people on this site mad beyond belief.
That makes more sense than anything he said.

  14. Asylum Seeker:

So, sad, how the American public won’t grant the religious their moral rights to morally object to the immoralities of our culture, depriving them from the moral authority they deserve due to their undeniably high levels of moralitude. No moral human beings could possibly disagree with their moral judgments, and its just those filthy immoral secularist heathens who are preventing them from doing their moral duty of arbitrarily condemning other people with impunity.

Oh, how we far we have fallen…morally…

  15. InTheImageOfDNA:

I lost count of the non-sequiturs Dimwit spouted.

  16. ctlr:

“we spend $150 billion a year on unwed births in our country”? So a baby born out of wedlock costs our government money? That doesn’t even make sense.

Seriously, all the shit facing this country — high gas prices, home foreclosures, national debt, soaring healthcare costs, two wars — and this douchebag Senator writes a book about having to “whisper” his intolerance? Talk about misplaced priorities.

  17. Chaoswes:

A few bits about this asshole.

“DeMint was ranked by National Journal as the most conservative United States Senator in their March, 2007 conservative/liberal rankings.[3] He was again ranked as the most conservative Senator in 2008.” (Wiki)

“DeMint lodged an anonymous objection to stall a bipartisan bill to aid Hurricane Katrina and Federal Flood victims.” (Wiki)

Let’s not forget that he has ties to Rep. Vitter (screwing prostitutes) and Abramoff (bribing everybody).

In essence, he has no right to open his fucking mouth about anything.

  18. swangeese:

These idiots need to realize that being unable to shove your beliefs down everyone’s throat is not the same as being persecuted. And these guys are so persecuted that they can write books, talk openly, evangelize, and con money from old ladies (and the government!) without any fear of reprisal.

I propose sending them over to Saudi Arabia with some Bibles. That way they’ll get the persecution they crave although I have the feeling that their idea of persecution is having to stay at a Holiday Inn.

DeMint’s comments remind me of George Carlin’s rant about pro-lifers : “If you’re pre-born you’re okay, if you’re pre-school you’re fucked!” Christianity, like many religions, has a dim view of women. So DeMint’s misogyny is not surprising.

And if you do cheat on your wife, you’ll get a David Vitter /Ted Haggard/insert conservative here “Jesus forgave me” get out of jail card. Not to mention so-called Christians on their second, third or fourth marriage. But it’s the gays, that can only marry in two states, that are ruining the institution of marriage.

In the days of yore DeMint romanticizes, Christians marched against mixed race marriages with Bible verses scrawled on their signs. Sound familiar? If you want human rights or scientific advancement, you won’t find them in ‘traditional values’.

That sound you hear is the world’s smallest violin playing for American Christians that complain of persecution.

  19. cry4turtles:

AUM-Rob Zombie IS A GOD!!! He will be worshipped as such in another 1000 years or so.

  20. AtheistUnderMask:

And we will use the Gospels of House of a 1000 Corpses and Devil’s Rejects, until some wacko comes along and starts up a religion using Halloween and Tyrannosaurus Rex.

But we will be a Super Beast! We will not let the Scum of the Earth Dragula our asses through the House of 1000 Corpses! The Phantom Stranger will Meet the Creeper and we will all be Devil’s Rejects!

That makes no sense at all, does it?

  21. Eve:

^ And I’ll be the Living Dead Girl!

    ‘Coz Hellbilly Deluxe rocks, man…

Re: post: some of you may remember a rant I went on about the so-called “family values/culture of life” crowd that accused them of fantasizing about a world in which they round up unwed pregnant women, even those who are pregnant as a result of rape; tie them to hospital beds; feed them intravenously during their gestation; perform C-sections on them when they’re due; and then kick them to the curb with their unwanted babies to add to the millions of miserable poor - just so that they don’t have abortions.

    Assholes…

  22. Sean:

These tools are such pathetic whiners. They haven’t lost their freedom of speech. What they’ve lost is their freedom from well-deserved ridicule. If having people hear what you actually say is embarassing then keep your mouth shut. Most of us learn this as children. Cry me a river, you sobs!.
