America wants Randall Terry to get lost!

27 August 2008 by Stardust

Randall Terry is back. For those who don’t know or don’t remember, he’s the founder of the radical anti-abortion group Operation Rescue which terrorized abortion/reproductive health clinics during the late 1980s and early ‘90s. As the following article from Americans United states, Terry is an “ardent theocrat, a foe of church-state separation and an all-around rotten guy.”

A Terry comment from 1993 encapsulates his “Christian” worldview.

“I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash over you,” he said. “I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good…. Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a biblical duty, we are called by God, to conquer this county. We don’t want equal time. We don’t want pluralism.”

And now he has brought his “Xian luv” to the 2008 Democratic convention:

According to news accounts, Terry and 12 others were arrested yesterday outside the Democratic Convention in Denver. His press release in advance of the event said he and other “Catholic and Evangelical Christians will peacefully ‘break the law’ to protest the slaughter of the innocent by abortion, and to call on fellow Christians to reject the Obama/Biden ‘Ticket of Death.’”

Pro-lifer activists like this asshat call on their fellow god botherers to protest abortion, but they never say what they will do for that child once they force the women to have these babies. What about the child after it’s born to a mother who cannot take care of it? What about the child who is born to an drug user? What about the child who would be born with fetal alcohol syndrome? What about the child who is born into some other dire circumstances because pro-lifers forced their mothers to have them? Few of these activists say what they will do for the child once it is born and no longer an infant (if it survives that long). We don’t see this kind of religious activism to call for help for the homeless, those who live in poverty, drug addicts, and others who live in desperate situations.

Relatives of mine are pro-life. They are adamant about their anti-abortion stance and believe that abortion is never an option. They will vote for the government to take away legalized abortions. Yet what do they do to help children who are born into poverty and poor environments? They moved to a beautiful and isolated island off the coast of Alaska where they believe their “God is blessing them” while they spew out their rules they wish everyone else to live by. They did not take their “work” to the inner cities and other areas where there is the greatest need.

For every religious fuckwit that bites the dust (as in Karen’s post below), others refuse to die even though most of American wants them to STFU: Nightmare On Theocracy Street: America Wants Randall Terry To Get Lost

In the following video, Terry sounds eerily like Scientologist whackadoo Tom Cruise

  1. Dana:

I’m willing to bet if “Atheism” could be isolated as a gene, more xians would have abortions.

  2. Stardust:

Dana, they would call it “exorcism” instead of abortion then. Gotta get those demons out!

  3. ChuckA:

And as we’ve discussed this before, Stardust…
I’d love to hear these “Pro-Life” (I call them Pro-Strife) asshats explain any “justice” and “Right to Life” RE Miscarriages!
I think the latest statistic is two out of five (40%) of pregnancies ends in miscarriage…or…”natural abortion”.
In other words their Blame the victim, “Intelligent Designing”, Psychopathic, Sado-Masochistic Deity is playing manifestly unjust, mean-spirited games with everyone…kind of forcing some…namely us…to live a lifetime of struggling, working, worrying, being ‘tested’, ass-kissing; whilst those He “naturally aborted” go straight to heaven…at least, now that, ex-cathedra, Limbo was shut down!

I’ve NEVER heard one of these Right-to-Life dipshits EVER mention Miscarriages. Of course, most people don’t even think of bringing the subject up; even though it happens in virtually every family.

Yeah…Another one of my pet peeves!
If anyone said to me: “What if YOU had been aborted? You wouldn’t be here now to talk about all this!”
My response would be something like:
“So what! Big fucking deal! I wouldn’t know; and nobody else in life would ever know about it either. In other words…No consciousness…no problems!”

    From a totally different viewpoint…
[Pardon a little throw-back to my Spiritual "New Age" days!]
Even in a supposed “Reincarnational” concept, for which any Life is simply a personal, evolutionary “learning opportunity”…an intended abortion or miscarriage would definitely be known about in advance; thus the potential opportunity is simply…a “Closed Learning Channel” affair!
In other words…no pre-existent entity has accepted the aborted “fetal opportunity”.

    More to the actual point…
In my opinion, Randall Terry and his vicious, dogmatically self-righteous, delusional minions, are totally moronic assholes; who should, like the Govermnent, keep their fucking noses out of other people’s lives…AND, who…just perhaps(?)…themselves, should have BEEN miscarriages!
Or am I being way too…erm…blasphemous?
[I DID say perhaps, though! And exactly how would we all know, anyway! So there!]

  4. ChuckA:

    Govermnent?…Government, of course.
    Or maybe…them too? ;)

  5. Eve:

Hi, everyone, sorry I’ve been so scarce around here! I’ve been moved to a new office where I have less privacy than I did before, and I still haven’t been able to afford a home computer and Internet service, so my online time is even more restricted. Many, many thanks to the righteous Ms. Stardust and you commenters for keeping the candles lit at GifS!

Re: post - These bastards just don’t want women to have control over their own bodies. They don’t want women to be able to have any kind of say over what happens to or inside their own bodies. They don’t give a shit about born, breathing people, especially women and children, except to see them “in their place;” it shows how sociopathic they are that the only empathy and fellow feeling they can muster up is for imaginary babies. They want rampant poverty, misery, wretchedness, and suffering, especially for those filthy whores who dare to live their lives as they see fit without kowtowing to their god-given superiors, True Xian Men (TM) and their Wholly Babble. They’ve seen this poverty, misery, wretchedness, and suffering in countries where abortion is illegal - and like it.

Watch out, Americans; this is what you can expect your nation to become if you give these people so much as an inch on the issue of abortion. You think things won’t be so bad if it gets outlawed in the US? Expect to find out real soon what living in a third-world nation is like…

  6. Karen:

Wow, Eve, thanks for the link to that older post. I wasn’t aware of that; before my time here. Excellent rant you had in the comments back then.

As for Terry, I don’t know where to start on his fucktardery. I’m just giving him a slot on my retroactive abortion wishlist.

  7. OurLady of Perpetual Motion:

I don’t usually watch things like this. I simply do not have the money to keep replacing my laptop monitor. However I gave it a try. Made it to 29 seconds.
I decided that was all the time I’m willing to spend putting up with him.

It’s really frightening how many mentally ill people use religion to fuel their personal psychosis.

  8. Old Viking:

When a person literally gets in your face and shouts, it’s a safe bet that he has nothing else going for him.

  9. democommie:

I would invite Mr. Terry and any of his fellow soldiers of KKKrist to get in my face and then have theirs fucked up big time.

  10. fritzy:

I’m an occupational therapist–I’ve seen babies at 21 weeks gestation. They are not incredibly “viable” at any point in what often ends up being a very short life. Most of them are so incredibly disabled, they barely achieve self-awareness.

Folks such as Randall Terry need to re-examine their definitions of “viable” and “human life.” And as long as he’s spouting statistics, perhaps recognize that the only thing that making abortion illegal ever accomplishes is an increase in unsafe abortions, not a decrease in the number of abortions. Thats a straight fact backed up by every legitimate study done on the subject.

Do these people really want a country like the ones in which abortion is illegal? Do third world countries and islamic dictotorships really appeal to the likes of these folks?

  11. 666:

    Eve,
    You rock!

  12. democommie:

    Fritzy:

The short answer to your last question is: absofuckinglutely, just so’s they’re in charge.

Randall Terry is a guy who really needs to have a major fucking stroke and get Schaivoed. What a complete fucking waste of protoplasm.

  13. Orzo:

Why isn’t this guy in jail as a terrorist?

  14. Stardust:

Orzo ^^ Because he is doing it for Jeebus and this is nearly a theocracy so the religious loonies get away with hate crimes, etc.

  15. AtheistUnderMask:

Orzo, it’s because only Muslims are terrorists.

    Duh! :D

  16. benjamin:

    “Shaivoed”….democommie, that is too much!

    LMFAO!!!

  17. Eve:

    Karen, 666, thanks!

fritzy, I think many of these fanatics don’t have a clue what it’s like living in a country where abortion is illegal, but an awful lot do. It seems to me that those who have visited and done “ministry work” supporting abortion bans either don’t think that the US would feel the same effects if it outlaws abortion - a sort of “that won’t happen to us because we’re more advanced/developed” attitude - or find a sick pleasure in widespread misery since it tends to generate a return to more extreme religiosity.

And basically, scratch hard enough, and most “blastocysts/zygotes/embryos/fetuses are people/potential people and thus should not be aborted” arguments originate in the belief that women do not have the right to dictate what happens to and inside their bodies.

  18. fritzy:

My question was more rhetorical than anything else. To the rational mind, it seems insane to wish for a country in which, based on religous dogma, we have outlawed abortion. To the rational mind.

But as you pointed out Eve, folks such as this are not big on logical conclusions. We are, after all, a Xtian Kountry, blessed by Gawd. As such, we can be total fuck wits without worry–jebus will protect us and our “freedoms.”

And by “freedoms,” I mean of course the freedom to love Jebus, (”or get out of my Kountry”) and make profane amounts of money in an ethically questionable manner.

As I’ve said before: When I get into debates with Xtains, I feel as if I’ve brought a gun to a magic wand fight.

  19. Stamper:

I recently became aware of Mr. Terry when I found one of his “Obama promotes baby genocide” brochures. So I wrote him this email.
    ——————————-

Yes, Mr. Terry I found one of your Obama brochures on the DC metro and I must say this is quite eye opening. Eye opening because I can’t believe that a man who supports history’s most destructive religion, a religion responsible for genocide and the erasure of hundreds if not thousands of religions from the face of the Earth would promote such a short sided view as that found in your brochure. I completely support your right to this view and your right to pass out ignorant propaganda, but come on man.

Every President in history has had to make decisions that result in the death of innocent men and woman. To point out one of these issues and claim that voting for one or the other means you support a murderer is simply retarded. So let’s say you vote McCain and he makes a hot headed decision with our armed forces (God bless them). Let’s assume that some civilians in the involved country get caught in the middle (which usually happens unfortunately). Does that make McCain a murderer and you a participant in this “crime.”

More important than any of this is the fact that the issue of abortion is only one issue and to make that the deciding factor in your vote is again short sided. I respect you for holding true to your ideals, but don’t forget the rest of the picture.

    Sincerely yours,
    Adam Stamper
I’m voting Obama so we can kill babies.
    —————————–

    And he replied with this.
    ——————————
    Hi Adam.

Write to me about the difference in intent in the scenario and posed (war), and the deliberate murder of children by abortion.

If you are Catholic, check out the new brochure at http://www.humbleplea.com called Faithful Catholic Citizenship. It answers the questions you raised (and that I am raising.)

Thanks for taking the time to read it and write me.

    To which I responded
    —————————–
First of all let me state my personal beliefs on the subject. While I do believe that both genders have a role in this debate, I think in the end woman’s views count more. And since we are in a democracy and the majority of the population, at least according to the polls is pro-choice, we should honor the rights of those who choose abortion. However, I strongly believe, and I can’t say this enough, ABORTION IS NOT A FORM OF BIRTH CONTROL. A woman should have the right to one abortion (one mistake in her life). If she chooses to have a second abortion she should lose her right to bear children and her tubes should be tied. This is my personal belief and most of America may disagree with me.

I also believe that the rate of population growth in the world, especially in the western world, is obscene. Humans are wonderful creatures, but are also incredibly destructive to the environment and each other. I do not believe that people have the right to have as many children as they choose. This especially holds true in the case of those who cannot afford to support their children properly. It is not fair to the child or the tax payers who must then foot the bill for the welfare checks.

Obviously these are not especially popular views, but I don’t rub them in anyones face or use ridiculous propaganda and fear tactics to promote them.

And what still bothers me is your support of such a historically destructive religion. What do you have to say for the wrong doings of your own religion? From the Spanish Inquisition to the Fifteenth-century Portuguese and Spanish Catholics that massacred the none believers of the New World to modern day Rwanda. Your religion I believe owes a huge apology to millions for it’s crimes against humanity.
    ———————————

    And then he writes
    ———————————-
I have taken your logic and replaced your words with another ‘issue.’ read your words over again and tell me if your logic follow? The right to life is paramount. War is ugly and there is no way around it. I don’t even believe this is a just war that we are in. but there is a hierarchy of needs, values, morals, and evil. which is worse? murder or slavery? a slave can at least get free, but a defenseless baby cannot fight nor get undead. so baby killing is way worse on the scale. don’t let the blood of millions of babies be on your hands when you vote for Obama.
    God Bless
    joseph

Yes, Mr. Stamper I found one of your Hitler brochures on the DC metro and I must say this is quite eye opening.

So let’s say you vote Hindenburg and he makes a hot headed decision with our armed forces (God bless them). Let’s assume that some civilians in the involved country get caught in the middle (which usually happens unfortunately). Does that make Hindenburg a murderer and you a participant in this “crime.”

More important than any of this is the fact that the issue of jew killing is only one issue and to make that the deciding factor in your vote is again short sided. I respect you for holding true to your ideals, but don’t forget the rest of the picture.

    Sincerely yours,
    Adam Stamper
I’m voting Hitler so we can kill jews.
    ———————————-

    And then I respond
    ———————————
Wait a minute. Did you really just compare Obama to Hitler. That’s easily the most ignorant comparison I’ve heard yet. Those sort of tactics are exactly what gives pro-life people a bad name. I have friends that are pro-life and if they read the crap you’ve been writing they would be embarrassed. By the way Hitler was a Roman Catholic.

Besides that I see your point, however far fetched it may be. Yes by voting for Obama I am in some part supporting a woman’s right to kill her unborn child. However by supporting McCain I’m supporting a man, who I believe will drive this country into even more trouble with it’s own people and it’s relaionship with the world. With McCain in office many more will suffer who are already out of the womb.

There’s really no point in trying to convince me that abortion in killing. I agree with that, but I’m still pro-choice. I’m a person who sees the huge picture in everything I can and the truth is death and killing are an important part of life. I’m sure your Catholic forerunners would agree with that when they killed so many who wouldn’t convert. I also don’t think that any religion is right. They are all beautiful in the way that all mankind is beautiful (even in it’s cruelest form). But, none is right.

No one knows where we came from exactly or more importantly why we’re here. To assume that you do know is the greatest act of human arrogance ever. If the great God or Gods have a thought process I’m sure it or they would be quite annoyed with the fact that we claim to know the answers to life’s deepest mysteries. So back to a bigger picture.

Woman’s right to choice aside (we obviously won’t agree on that), what about population growth. What happens when our population begins to reach that of China. First of all most Americans consume more resources than at least five Chinese, so we wouldn’t reach that point before complete anarchy without some changes in lifestyle. But, when we do begin to reach max capacity and it’s your unborn child or your lovely daughter standing next to you (because you can’t support both at this point) which would it be?

I strongly believe that we are equal to all living creatures on Earth. Man is an animal species, where ever it came from. And man is completely out of balance with all other species. For the good of the world and ourselves as a species we need to consider more important issues right now than the rights of the unborn. That may seem harsh to you, but I’m a realist and that’s reality. we need to think more about who can turn our nation towards a smaller footprint and in turn lead by example and show the world it can be done. Worry about how to sustain the human life that’s here walking and not how to insure there’s more of us.

I agree that abortion is not a good thing, but it’s not the worst thing right now and since the population is split (leaning more towards pro-choice than pro-life) so be it. You go and shout your propaganda (like Hitler right) and I’ll vote Obama and pray to the Gods (all those beautiful beliefs your religion wiped out) that he wins. Again I respect you, but not your tactics. I think your better than this trashy crap you throw around. I’m sure glad most educated people look at that sort of junk and just laugh.

I’m voting Obama so I can kill babies

Okay okay, that was a long post. I do apologize, but I wanted to share my experience with Randall.
