Dumbass Xians
29 November 2008 by BobThe president and the first lady invited leaders of America’s Jewish community for a Hanukkah reception at the White House next month - but raised more than a few eyebrows by putting a picture of a Christmas tree on the invitation. The message reads that the couple “requests the pleasure of your company at a Hanukkah reception,” written beneath an image of a Clydesdale horse hauling a Christmas fir along the snow-dappled drive to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Ah yes, another dumbass xian who has yet to read her bible…
Congregation, if you would be so kind as to please turn your bibles to Jeremiah 10:2-4:
Thus saith the LORD, learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
Truth be told, I’m actually thinking about putting this verse in every xmas card I send out, and putting this verse all around my house in the form of ornaments.
‘Tis the season — to be xian…
Praise Be! Glory!…

Thanks, so much, Pastor Bob…
I’m definitely putting that, Jeremiah 10:2-4 inspired, Xmas card idea on my ‘to do’ list…
for a customized “Hallmark 2008″ eCard project!
(gleefully rubs hands together) “Tee-hee!”

Good find, Bob. I should put that as my signature message on my emails to my fundie family members who send me emails always with a Bible verse at the bottom. I bet they could not understand my point.

I find this administration to be reprehensible in almost every possible way, but I feel compelled to report that they claim it was a bad proofreading issue rather than an intentional slight or a lack of comprehension. Of course, it’s easy to come up with an excuse after the fact.

GDad^
“Bad proof reading” my ass.
This was likely neither intentionally insensitive nor a proof-reading error, but rather the same combination of incompetence and blithe carelessness and indifference we have come to expect from the Bushies for the past 8 years.
Good riddence to bad rubbish. Don’t let the Whitehouse door hit ya where your invisible friend split ya.

Priceless! I’m guessing none of the food served (if any) will be kosher. Gotta love the Bushes for making everyone else in this country look smart!

I agree! Someone just couldn’t be bothered to take the proper time and attention to detail in designing and executing the invitation, and went ahead on auto-pilot.
