Church tries to drive out “gay demons” via exorcism
25 June 2009 by StardustA church in Connecticut holds an “exorcism” of a homosexual male and posts the video on YouTube. Unbelievable. One cannot force a gay person to be straight just as no one can force a straight person to be gay. It’s absolutely horrifying, appalling that this is going on in this country, in this day and age. They basically reinforce to this boy that there is something terribly wrong with him, and has to be extremely psychologically damaging to him. And these people think they are helping, they have no clue.
Conn. church creates stir with gay exorcism video
The video shows the 16-year-old boy lying on the floor, his body convulsing, as elders of a small Connecticut church cast a “homosexual demon” from his body.
“Rip it from his throat!” a woman yells. “Come on, you homosexual demon! You homosexual spirit, we call you out right now! Loose your grip, Lucifer!”
The 20-minute video posted on YouTube by Manifested Glory Ministries is being called abuse by gay and youth advocates, who are demanding an investigation. But a church official this week denied that the teenager was injured or that the church is prejudiced.
*snip*
It’s nearly impossible to say how often similar exercises occur in churches nationwide. But Kamora Herrington, who runs a mentoring program at True Colors and has worked with the youth, said she believes it’s fairly common.
“This happens all the time,” she said. “This is not isolated.”
Robin McHaelin, executive director of True Colors, an advocacy group for gay youths, said her organization is aware of five cases in recent years in which youths in her program were threatened with exorcism.
In one case, she said, a child called to report that his caregiver had called a priest who was throwing holy water on his bedroom door.
“I think it’s horrifying,” McHaelin said of the video by Manifested Glory. “What saddens me is the people that are doing this think they are doing something in the kid’s best interests, when in fact they’re murdering his spirit.”

That is child abuse. And stupid, too.

It’s probably a good thing I don’t believe in violence, because right now I’d love to go “exorcise” the bastards doing this to this poor child.
Being gay is not a choice and is NOT a demon. I just wish these idiots would look at the natural world around us, and see homosexuality is prevalent in a great deal of species and has several evolutionary applications. Oops sorry, used the concept of evolution, always a mistake when dealing with kerazy people.
And he’s only 16! He isn’t even finished finding out who he is, they don’t give the poor boy a chance.

The kid might “shape up” and act straight for a while, but ultimately his inner self will triumph. You cannot fight millions of years of genetic conditioning on the mind/body. Sexuality is a force that no church service could alter. I’ve seen this a bunch of times when I was a believer. They want so badly not to be gay, but ultimately the gay wins out because it’s who they are. I wish the pastor there could understand the power of love – it’s stronger than sex. Gay people just want to love and be loved. In fact, I suspect that this pastor has no clue that there are gays out there that experience love in ways more powerful than he could ever imagine. Ironically, that makes them more Xian than him… tee hee!

I saw this story this afternoon on CNN. Ali Velshi was sitting in for Rick Sanchez, and seemed totally inept when interviewing the actual Pastor, a total nutcase fundie dingbat gal; babbling the same old moronic demon crap.
These instances are the time I really wish people like Hitchens were called in to comment on the complete insanity of religion.
Another case of totally bullshit religion, born itself out of grossly ignorant and, I think, mentally ill, Bronze Age spawned minds; causing even more massive amounts of mental illness, spanning thousands of years. An unrecognized virus, if you will.
The insane doctrine, of course, all stems from that “Old Testicle” Sado-Masochist fuckhead, Leviticus; whom I always call Leviciousness. What a complete and total mental asshole he must have been…IF he ever really existed.
Wasn’t it he who said:
“Put the shrimp down, now…and grab some stones!…
not YOUR stones; the ones on the ground, fucktards!
Now, let’s rumble?”
Seriously…
Anyone I’ve known who is gay, claims they knew they were gay from the first inkling of sexual awareness; i.e…they were born gay. And, of course, there’s also Bi-sexuality.
[And when you get old, it's..."Bye, Sexuality!" (wank, wank!)]
As has been said above, Nature is filled with myriad examples of homosexual animal behavior.
It’s an ageless part of Human Nature, folks…get over it!

God-damn Jesus and God-damn everyone who invokes his name.

When this kid kills himself in a year or two, the pastor and his flock will bemoan the fact that, ultimately, the “homosexual demon” won. They will be totally oblivious to the roll they have played in his death.

Go read the yahoo article linked above. In it the pastor states “I got nothing against homosexuals, I just can’t condone the practice of it.” WTF does that mean? They “practice” their love behind closed doors (mostly) just like straights do, so what “practices” is she talking about? The lisp?
Let’s see. The gays I know are kind, up-beat, well-groomed, well-dressed, well-spoken, totally decent human beings. Hey! I have a great idea! Let’s marginalize and demonize them in the name of Jesus!
Fucking pathetic.

We shouldn’t judge! How do you know the demons aren’t gay? Remember Liberace? A demon. My favorite waiter at my usual restaurant? A demon. A polite, attentive demon, but a demon. We can’t be too careful.

These folks go to such extremes because they are just afraid they might “catch” the “gay germs”. And what gets me is that African Americans should understand more than many of us about discrimination and oppression by intolerant, bigoted people. I don’t get a lot about African Americans today…they cling to a religion that was forced on their ancestors by white people who used it to keep the slaves in line, then today their descendants use it to oppress others. I don’t get that at all.

These stories piss me off so much. As a gay guy myself, my blood pretty much boils watching this shit. These are the same kind of people who talk about protecting their children from homosexuals and homosexual influence (yeah there’s usually an undercurrent in there that smacks of suggesting molestation), but at the same time are basically psychologically and physically abusing a child who is probably homosexual himself.
And that pastor had the nerve to claim that they don’t hate homosexuals and don’t “come up against” us. They just don’t like our “lifestyle” (I’m so tired of that word being used to describe my sexuality). How can you even say that when you are basically comparing homosexuality to a demon? You are equating homosexuality with evil. And telling a child you can drive out his “gay demons” is basically telling him that he has something evil inside of him. If this kid is actually gay, they’d better hope he doesn’t grow up to hate himself or worse. Believe in Jesus all you want, you cannot pray away your sexuality. The damage people like this do is just incalculable.

I try ot EXORCISE ALL THESE F–king religious “NUTS” by merely using my brain to think! This kid should grow up to KILL THE F–king DEVIL’s “MINISTER FROM HELL”

“PRIMAL FEAR” Great movie….. child gets even with ABUSIVE RELIGIOSO MOTHER-F–KER….. and gets away with it! I JUST LOVE IT!

“I got nothing against homosexuals, I just can’t condone the practice of it.”
That statement is the modern-day equivalent of “I don’t hate blacks; I just hate when they act so much like nig…um…you know–blacks.”
Stardust:
“These folks go to such extremes because they are just afraid they might “catch” the “gay germs”.”
I think you’re on to something. I’d go a step further and say they are afriad of sexuality in general–the “sanctity” of marriage and sex for (presumptive) reproductive purposes being the sacraments that save us from the evils of this otherwise base act. Since gays can’t (yet) reproduce, in most places can’t get married, and well, hell, the bibble says it’s an abomination, well then you’ve got people that are engaging in sex for the sheer hedonistic pleasure of it, against “gawd’s plan” and “there, but by the grace of gawd go I”
“And what gets me is that African Americans should understand more than many of us about discrimination and oppression by intolerant, bigoted people.”
I’m finding that’s not the way discrimination works. Never has. Discrimination can be a tool for the disempowered to gain SOME power. I may be black, but at least I’m a light-skinned, educated black. I may be a dark-skinned black, but at least I’m no Uncle Tom. I may be an Uncle Tom, but at least I’m no fag.
And privaledged white rich men LOVE this shit!–Saves them a lot of work. “Yes, yes! Gay’s are evil! What’s that? Black men earn less than white men doing the same job…look over there, a gay trying to adopt a black baby? Yes, my mostly white, upper-class white protestant mega-church will support your inner-city afro-american church in it’s campaign against the quickly spreading gay agenda. Oh, and vote McCain.”
“I don’t get a lot about African Americans today…they cling to a religion that was forced on their ancestors by white people who used it to keep the slaves in line…”
Are you kidding? Most white people don’t know much about their history, and we’re the one’s writing the gaddamned history books.
Of course there are some blacks out there who do realize this, and turn their backs on the religion of their oppressors…and turn to…Islam (*sigh*.)
“then today their descendants use it to oppress others.”
Because, as history has shown, dualistic religion is a fantastic tool of oppression; regardless of who’s hand’s it is in.
27 June 2009, on 2:59 pm
Oh, and vote McCain
LOL! Thanks for that. Awesome.
27 June 2009, on 11:23 pm
Indeed, Fritzy. It’s been my experience that black people, on the whole, are far more homophobic than any other ethnic group. I think it has to do with their socio-economic status, misogyny and a crappy ass educational system.
I pity these people. They want a future away from poverty, but they’re obsessed with the brainwashed slave mentality. If not that, then they turn to the uber-violent, ultra misogynistic Islamic “faith”.
Corporate America is no help, either. They helped create the “bling-bling baby’s got back’ culture, exploiting the worst part of urban culture, while Tupac Sahkur ends up dead.
Just like the rest of the Black panthers…

The only demons I see in this video are the assholes abusing an innocent child in the name of the tooth fairy (or something like that). I’m beginning to hate religion worse than most religions hate gays.
28 June 2009, on 9:20 pm
Rounds77:
Did you just refer to the tooth FAIRY? The tooth fairy is a gay demon! We’ll have to beat her out of you! My teeth are heterosexual (well, except for my wisdom teeth, but I had them exorcised)!

And, excuse me, putting it on Youtube. How staged is that?
2 July 2009, on 1:39 pm
Has anyone checked out the “minitries” website? LOL! These people take themselves far to seriously, I find it amusing when people like this equate the “word of god” and “prohetic dreams and visions” with education and intelligence. Also – the dime store leftover priests frock is priceless!
