Draw Muhammad Day, Thursday May 20

After much consideration about the upcoming “Draw Muhammad Day” tomorrow, I have decided to join others like Friendly Atheist, Hemant Mehta, Vjack from Atheist Revolution, NoGodBlog and many others and post an invitation for those of you who wish to participate.
This action is not merely to rile up and piss off peace-loving Muslims. This is to stand up to those who are attempting to create a global theocracy and do not respect freedom of speech and expression except when it comes to their violent and oftentimes lethal public protests against any criticism of their religion and beliefs.
As for the risk of violent response? Here is a quote from NoGodBlog:
If it makes Muslims uncomfortable, maybe they should consider why they pray to a god that can’t even stomach being drawn, let alone being criticized. Maybe they should consider how barbaric it is that everyone taking part in Draw Muhammad Day is endangering lives, and risking terrorism. Maybe they should consider, just for a moment, that their religion is indeed primitive.
Definitely not a religion of peace if their response is going to be one of death threats and violence.
If we respect their beliefs and shut up like they want everyone in the world to do, then we are giving in. We may as well just shut down our websites, go back in the atheist closet and just let them have their way. And it won’t stop with just curtailing our freedom of speech. They will want to take more, and more of our freedoms away till Sharia Law rules the planet. We would not tolerate this from the Christians or any other religion. But because fundamentalist Islam threatens us with violent acts, many are too afraid to criticize them at all anymore. Like in the video of Vilks’university lecture being shut down in Sweden. If we keep giving in what will happen to our world?
There are many who truly intend to make this whole world a theocracy, and those who wish to make friends with those who would not lift a finger to stop it are merely helping the fundamentalists’ cause. As we saw on South Park, and heard from my warm-and-fuzzy friends, it appears some wish us to roll over and let them win. So we can’t mention Muhammad or show a drawing without fear — does anyone really think it ends there?
Of course it won’t. Like with the fundamentalist Christians, they want it all their way.

Yes, Star…I suggest encouraging any like-minded artistic family members to join in on the project.
It’s been awhile, but I’ve piddled around a bit myself with some crude drawings; but I’ll certainly be encouraging my atheist_genuine artist_companion to join in the…erm…fun?
And just to reiterate a couple of things I commented on from the other recent Post RE Islam and your cartoon selection:
1) Fuck Muhammad (correcting my spelling?) AND Islam…and, of course, all mind-warping religions in general.
2) Like I mentioned; it’s IMO never posted too often…

I posted this on Facebook and Twitter. One of my Facebook friends would like to know if there’s a place online where we can upload our drawings. Does anyone know the answer to that question? My Twitter post — which read, “Tomorrow is Draw Muhammad Day! I hope everyone participates!” and included a link to this blog — got an immediate response from @adnan_khalid, who wrote, “I’m celebrating fuck ur daughter day. I hope everyone participates cz ur daughter loves a huge load.”
My response: “Your bio says you ‘take pride in being a human being.’ Yet your tweets prove this untrue. Have some bacon & shut the fuck up.”
Adnan: “a human being respects others’ feelings/we luv muhammad more thn our parents n children/so can i draw me fucking ur daughter?”
Me: “If you love Muhammad more than your parents & children as you say, then you HAVE NO RESPECT FOR OTHERS!”

Then he stopped talking to me. But he’s still harassing others, offering to draw pictures of their daughters and mothers engaged in sexual acts. And we’re supposed to take this religion SERIOUSLY? It seems like the threat of death is ALL they’ve got going for them.

That’s what I am talking about. Their religion condones immoral behavior, even encourages it. And nope, they have no idea what freedom of speech and expression is all about even when they are exercising it themselves.
As for the pictures, anyone remember how commenters can insert images right into comment posts? I forget.

I wish I was artistic enough to contribute.
I figured out years ago that instead of bombs dropped in Afghanistan and Iraq that we should have dropped Playboys, Penthouse, and Hustler Mags along with the artistic renderings of the dearly loved and venerated founder having sex with a 9 year old. Porn bombs would have done so much more than the bombs that kill people.

Ray, I would’ve pointed out to that idiot that he apparently doesn’t understand the difference between drawing someone just being there and someone in an unpleasant situation.
I just would’ve thanked him for the idea, told him I’d draw Muhammad fucking his mom then asked if he understood the difference.
Sometimes you have to take it to their level to help them understand their own stupidity.

The rare and occasional moderate muslim person can be heard popping out of the woodwork to announce “it’s a religion of peace”. As Pat Condell says in one of his wonderful videos “a piece (of you) over here and piece over there”. It’s not peaceful, or if it is, they must be contrasting it with the xian church during the inquisition. ‘Spose everything is relative. The ‘draw the muslim profit / prophet day’ will say to these people, that we don’t give a shit about your prophet, your gawd and we certainly don’t respect your Iron age belief system. The entries will need to be seen. Jees, I wish I could draw! Got to get them into print though if it’s going to have an impact. The hooded and bearded can grab their long knives and embarass their silly religion even MORE. See, they are doing all of the worlds rational thinkers and non-believers a great service. Fundamental muslims have single handedly opened more peoples eyes to the stupididy of religion than anybody else. September 11 started the ball rolling. As tragic as that event was, in the future it may be recognised as the time the world grew up and took notice. Notice of how dangerous and evil this superstitious nonsense is. It may prove to be the big motivator.

In the interest of religious fairness, here’s the blasphemous cover of my novella “Graven Image,” about a hand-carved wooden crucifix with an evil looking Jesus on it that has teeth filed down to fangs. At night, the three-foot-tall wooden Jesus comes off the cross and punishes people for their sins in terrible ways. It’s in the works as a movie. The producer told me if it’s successful (it’ll be straight-to-DVD), he hopes to make a series of these evil Jesus movies in which he said, “I want to turn Jesus into Jason.”
